This could indicate something very similar to come for Marines, with their own non-daemonic Machine Spirit.Įither roll a D3 on this table, or select the powers you wish the psyker to have (unless there is something we are missing, I’d really recommend choosing!). The landraider includes a rule called ‘Daemonic Machine Spirit’ which allows it move and then fire fire heavy weapons without a penalty. The Heldrake claws are a Melee weapon that has a bonus against Flyers – well, that’s a first! All for a 138 point price tag. How much players like the new version of the Oblits may well depend on their tolerance for randomness - but then remember, they did already choose to play Chaos! 🙂 They fire with anything between Strength 7 and Strength 9, with an AP of a gently tickling -1 to a suckerpunching -3 and Damage of 1 to 3. The Oblitorator guns are powerful but also extremely random. Havocs cost 13 points each (units of 5-10), while Oblitorators are 65pts each (units of 3). Note that this unit has a weapon (the Twin Icarus Autocannon) which has a bonus vs Flyers specifically, and a penalty when firing at other targets. Gaze in awe at all 415 points-worth of Magnus the Red! There is also a profile of a Flyer in the form of a Heldrake (12 Wounds 3+ save) well worth a look, but I must admit I was stopped in my tracks by the 70pt cost of the Chaos Rhino. The pages we can see include an example of a Psychic Table (Dark Hereticus Disciplines) that the player can roll on to generate powers, as well as a secondary table (Contagion Disciplines). This is unfortunately a fairly poor quality copy, but it is likely to be of interest to players of other armies too, as it contains a better view of the way GW is pricing units and wargear upgrades than anything else we’ve seen so far. We now have access to a preview of the new Chaos Marines codex.
